Inference Statistics

The binomial distribution gives the probability that a specified outcome occurs in a given number of independent trials. The binomial distribution can be used to model the inheritability of a particular trait in genetics, to estimate the occurrence of a specific reaction (eg, the single packet, or quantal release, of acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction), or to estimate the death of a cancer cell in an in vitro test of a new chemotherapeutic agent.
